Emotional Colors

Harvest

🌿It's harvest time, and the trees have my attention this year. In the Northeast, they bloomed into gorgeous blossoms and greens all spring and summer. They are changing into every color, as they're going through their own dramatic glow-up. 🍁

And it got me thinking, trees can be happy and sad at the same time too. Letting go of their leaves and being nourished, both at once. Grief and relief, holding hands. We do that as people. We feel two things that do not seem to belong together, and maybe that is not confusing at all. πŸŒ²πŸŒ΄πŸŒ³πŸŽ„πŸŽ‹

What color are your emotional leaves right now? Are they bright with hope, red, gold with gratitude, or brown around the edges from carrying too much for too long? Perhaps the colors have different meanings for you?

And what is your bark like these days? Soft enough to let good things in? Thick from the weather you have survived? Maybe it is both.

So naturally, I got to thinking. If you were a tree...

What time of year would you feel most free?
What type of tree would you be? Be honest. Are you a majestic oak or a chaotic little shrub?
What age of a tree are you right now?

And if you have not been planted yet, this harvest and winter could be your planning season. Figuring out what kind of tree or shrub you want to be and how you are going to plant it come spring. Because trees would absolutely be missed if they were not around, so somebody has to do it. That somebody is not always the neighbor with the fancy garden. Sometimes it is you, working it out over the winter, shovel waiting by the door.

Tell us your story in the comments. I want to hear it. Yes, I’m LQQKing for your comments here!

There’s a link to a YouTube video about trees. It’s not too long. But first things first. Your comment, please!
